Female Actor / Performer for ATHENA R&D 2022

over 40s / we are specifically seeking an actor of the global majority.

We are looking for an actor based in the north west who has some experience with new writing, devising and/or working on shows in development. At the moment, there is no specific character breakdown as the script isn’t yet written but we anticipate that there will be some multi-roling and that the show will be a two-hander with co-artistic director Kelly Munro-Fawcett. This is an experiment for us and we envisage that the eventual piece will be an amalgamation of different art forms, fusing live performance with photography, video footage, visual art and music. It will be a script in hand scratch performance. 

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is interested and passionate about the themes that we’ll be exploring. Someone who will be open, honest and giving in the rehearsal room and happy to offer up their own insights into womanhood. For more information on the themes explored in the show please have a look here

We hope that this research and development phase will lead to a full scale tour in 2023. 

Dates: 

4 - 23 July 2022 (2 weeks rehearsing and 1 week sharing ‘work in progress’)

Rehearsals will be in Oldham and Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

23 July - Touchstones Museum Rochdale 

Fee: 

£500 per week plus travel at £104.80 per week. Please note, we are unable to pay relocation allowance and therefore we encourage applications from local actors.
